A Florala man found himself behind bars over the weekend after allegedly attempting to ram an Alabama state trooper’s patrol car.
On Saturday, 29-year-old Lawarren Thomas was arrested by Alabama State Troopers after a trooper attempted to stop his 2007 Dodge Charger for speeding at approximately 11:15 a.m.
According to Trooper Kevin Cook, Thomas then attempted to flee the area in his vehicle and tried to ram the trooper’s car. He was stopped and subdued without incident, following a brief pursuit.
Thomas was subsequently arrested by troopers, who also found him to be in possession of marijuana. Thomas was charged with attempting to elude, reckless endangerment, possession of marijuana II and assault.
He was booked into the Covington County Jail on a $128,000 bond.
