The search for a man that allegedly shot another individual at a car wash in Crestview, Fla., was still underway Tuesday night in Opp, according to Chief of Police Mike McDonald.
A call advising officers of the shooting was issued around noon Tuesday. Officers were told to be on the lookout for a man, approximately 6 foot, one inch tall, weighing 150 pounds and driving a dark-colored pick-up truck with Covington County tags traveling north in the direction of Opp. A passenger in the vehicle was described as having “dreads” in his hair. The men were described as being armed with a small handgun.
According to information released from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday afternoon, the victim of the shooting arrived at North Okaloosa Medical Center at 12:10 p.m. and was taken by helicopter to a Pensacola, Fla. hospital for treatment.
McDonald, who was out of town Tuesday, said OPD was working with law enforcement in Crestview, but had not yet made an arrest. He said initial reports described the shooter as being from Opp, but he was not aware of any name that had been tied to the crime.
