Straughn’s Brooks Rabren is sitting in second place on Monday after finishing at even par on his first round of the Class 3A state boys golf championships on the Senator Course at Capitol Hill Golf Course in Prattville.
Rabren started his round even by parring the first hole, but fell to 1-over with a bogey on the par-three second.
He stayed at 1-over all the way until the par-five 10th, where he got back to even par with a birdie.
By the 16th hole, Rabren stayed at even par until a 30-minute rain delay stopped play. He parred the par-five 17th and par-four 18th to finish the back nine at even par.
Rabren is currently in second place, under West Morgan’s Dakota Terry, who shot a 1-under 71.
Second and final round action picks back up today.
