Florala’s Lady Wildcats finished at No. 9 in the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s final Class 1A softball poll.

FHS improved to 15-9 on the season after a 5-4 victory over W.S. Neal Tuesday night.

Over the weekend, FHS fell to Opp 4-1 in bracket play of the Pleasant Home tournament.

The Lady Wildcats are back in action this weekend in the Elba Tune Up Tournament.

Opp (23-8) and Straughn (19-11) were nominated for the Class 3A poll, but weren’t ranked.
