Law enforcement search for missing driver

The search for the driver of a vehicle that crashed Monday night near the Covington, Crenshaw counties line was still on Tuesday night, nearly 24 hours after the accident.
Sgt. Steven Jarrett, public information officer for the Alabama State Troopers Office, said the single-vehicle crash took place Monday at approximately 10 p.m. on Covington County Rd. 77. Jarrett said a disabled male was left at the scene by the driver, believed by authorities to be a female.
Tuesday afternoon, Jarrett said the female subject was not wanted on criminal charges, adding authorities from Crenshaw County, Covington County, the State Troopers Office, as well as agents with the Alabama Bureau of Investigation, searched for the woman throughout the night Monday, as well as throughout the day Tuesday.
Jarrett said information indicating the subject was not physically harmed had been received by authorities, but had not been confirmed as of Tuesday evening.
Jarrett said the names of those involved in the accident have not yet been released, as the crash is still under investigation by state troopers.
