Florala girls beat RLS, Andy

Florala defeated Red Level and Andalusia in doubleheader softball action Tuesday night.
The Lady Wildcats dispatched of RLS 17-1 in the first game, and topped the Lady Bulldogs 4-0 in the night cap.
FHS scored seven runs in the first inning, four runs in the second, and three runs each in the third and fourth innings.
Angel Maxey, Lily Ritzel and Callie Wise hit one triple each; Keadra Avan and Katilyn Geohagan had a double each to lead FHS.
RLS scored its only run in the first inning.
Ritzel struck out 10 in four innings in the win.
Against Andalusia, Ritzel also struck out 10 batters while throwing a 1-hitter.
Florala scored one run in the third inning and three in the sixth.
Ritzel had a single and a run; and Bailea Rickett had a single to lead FHS.
Andalusia’s Haley Snider got the lone hit for the Lady Bulldogs.
In other softball action, Opp defeated Jay, Fla. 7-2, and Straughn beat Pleasant Home, 11-2.
Florala visits Georgiana, and Andalusia starts play in its annual fast-pitch softball tournament at the Dwight Mikel Sports Complex on Friday.
Opp visits Straughn on Thursday in area action. Also on Thursday, Pleasant Home hosts Brantley.
