Mayor Earl Johnson and Industrial Development Board Chairman Ed Short signed a memorandum of understanding today, March 10, 2014, in Daegu, Korea with President In Tae Heo of SaeHaeSung, an automotive parts producer for Hyundai and Kia.

The memorandum of understanding lays the groundwork for a 3,500 sq. ft. expansion of the 120,000 sq. ft. Andalusia SaeHaeSung plant which employs 175 – 200.

When completed, the expansion will allow space for four to six additional stamping machines for the plant which will require 10 to 15 additional employees.

Mayor Johnson thanked President Heo and IDB Chairman Short for working together to create a partnership to benefit Andalusia and SaeHaeSung. “We have developed a great relationship with President Heo and SaeHaeSung for many years and we deeply appreciate his investment in Andalusia. This project represents our continued effort to diversify and grow Andalusia’s economy.”

The expansion is expected to begin in the summer of 2014 and completed early fall.
