Officials with Opp Police Department have confirmed they are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death of an individual that passed away Monday.

Police Chief Mike McDonald said OPD could not confirm any other details regarding the incident until the investigation is completed, but added he expects more information to be available in the next few days.

Sources told The Star-News the deceased individual was found inside an Opp home Monday afternoon, but McDonald said he could not comment on a possible cause of death, the location of the incident or any other details concerning the situation until the investigation is complete.
