The idenity of the next Opp head football coach remains a mystery, but Superintendent Michael Smithart promises the announcement will be worth the wait.

At a board of education meeting Tuesday, Smithart said a candidate has been selected.

“In respect to his family, we’re withholding the name as we’re currently working out logistics,” Smithart said. “But I will tell you, there are great days ahead for Bobcat football. People will be excited.”

There was no date given on when the announcement will be given.
