‘13 ends, New Year starts with wet weather

Covington County ended 2013 with more than a 10-inch gain in rainfall totals over the previous year.
The figures, which were collected at the Yellow River Bridge on Ala. Hwy. 55, put the annual rainfall total at 65.12 inches – a 10.76-inch increase from the 2012 ending total of 54.36 inches.
The biggest rainfall total was in February, with 12.28 inches. December ended with 6.36 inches, figures show.
