Still looking for the perfect gift this holiday season? What if you could find it, while saving a life in the process? Officials at Andalusia Animal Shelter say you can do just that at their Adopt-A-Thon event Sat., Dec. 21.
Christin Ball, shelter manager, said there will be opportunities for pets to take pictures with Santa, along with plenty of furry friends to take home.
“There will be many pets to choose from, including kittens and cats and puppies and dogs from small to large,” Ball said. “All adoptions will be spayed or neutered and adoption fees are reduced for the Saturday Adopt-A-Thon.”
Deborah Evans, director of the Andalusia Area Humane Society, said the event will take place at their location at 411 Pearl St., off Stanley Ave. in the old Hickory Medicine Company building.
Evans said the AAHS’s pet food pantry will also be distributing free pet food for low-income families and senior citizens during Saturday’s event, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., or, “while supplies last.”
Saturday’s Adopt-A-Thon will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. For more information, call 334.222.8705 or visit the shelter on Facebook at Facebook.com/AshelterBabies.
