The state of Alabama has connections to three of the Heisman finalists this year: Alabama quarterback and Mobile native A.J. McCarron, Birmingham native and Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston (the current favorite), and Auburn running back Tre Mason.

They will be in New York Saturday with the other three finalists, Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch, Boston College running back Andre Williams and last year’s winner, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. This is the first time the Heisman Trust has invited six players to New York City since 1994.

ESPN will cover the trophy presentation beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday.
