An Andalusia man is in custody for felony domestic violence after he allegedly beat not only the mother of his children, but also an 11-year-old child Tuesday.
Chief Deputy David Anderson said that deputies found Cedric Rahun Hollinger when they responded to a domestic at Paul Lane, located just south of Andalusia.
“When deputies got there, they found Hollinger attempting to flee and a female with injuries to the side of her head,” Anderson said. “After speaking with her and other witnesses, it was determined that Hollinger assaulted her with his fists and with a large wooden object.
“Hollinger also struck an 11-year-old at the scene, as well as an adult neighbor,” he said.
Anderson said that Hollinger refused to cooperate with deputies and investigators and appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and alcohol.
The victim was treated at a local hospital and later released, Anderson said.
Hollinger is charged with felony domestic violence II for assaulting the mother of his children and domestic violence III for striking the child with a closed fist.
Anderson said Hollinger has a history of domestic violence and may face additional charges in this case as it remains under investigation.
