Police are searching for two wanted felons after a two-state police chase Thursday afternoon.

Florala Police Chief Sonny Bedsole said the two male suspects are known to police; however, he declined to identify them publicly “so that we can catch them.”

“I will say the two suspects have felony warrants from Florida, which is why they ran to begin with,” Bedsole said.

The chase was initiated in Florala and ended about five miles north of Defuniak Springs, Fla.

“One of the patrol cars had a flat tire and then the other made it to a construction zone,” Bedsole said. “When that I happened, I called the chase off. It became too dangerous to officers and those on the road.”

Bedsole said once the two are in custody, they will also face an attempting to elude from law enforcement charge.
