A new county commission will be installed today at 9 a.m., and from the released agenda, it appears it will be the last meeting held in the morning hours.
District Judge Frank “Trippy” McGuire will administer the oath of office ceremony, which will be followed by the first meeting of the new commission.
Items on the agenda include resolutions of appreciation for the former chairman, Lynn Sasser, and the former commissioners Bragg Carter and David Ellis. Sasser was defeated in the last election by Bill Godwin, while Ellis was defeated by Kenneth Northey. Carter elected to not seek an additional term, and Joe Barton was elected to take the seat.
Commissioners are expected to vote on establishing the administration’s meeting location, date and time.
