Eagles take ‘frustrating’ loss

It was a frustrating night to say the least for Pleasant Home on Friday, Eagles head football coach Cody McCain said.
PHS fell 30-22 to J.U. Blacksher, handing the Bulldogs their third win of the season and its sixth loss to close out the regular season.
“It was a frustrating night,” McCain said. “There were a lot of mistakes made.
“We had an 85-yard touchdown called back in the third quarter,” he said.
At one point in the game, the Eagles trailed by two scores, the coach said.
When asked whether it was either one or a multitude of things the Eagles weren’t doing right, McCain said a lot of the same mistakes were being made.
“We have a patch-work offensive line and we had some new kids who were playing tonight,” he said. “Defensively, we had some break downs that we’ve been having for a while. We’re out of options. We don’t have anybody else to put in. We’re trying to continue to coach and work hard and do the best we can.”
Pleasant Home (4-6) travels to face St. Luke’s in the first round of the Class 1A state playoffs on Thursday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile.
Kick off is at 7 p.m.
