Sunday prayer supports troops

Dear Editor,

We’ve all seen the stickers on trucks and cars which encourage us to support our troops. Whether or not we all agree on the war we fought in Iraq and the war we continue to fight in Afghanistan, we can agree that our troops need to know we care about them.

Like many others, we have prayed and continue to pray for all our service men and women who are risking their lives to protect our freedom. They are preserving our freedom that allows us to gather for united prayer and worship.

Beginning this Sunday from 4 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., there will be a weekly time of prayer for our military. Bring a lawn chair and umbrella (if needed) and come to the Covington County Veterans Memorial behind the Andalusia City Hall. It will be held rain or shine every Sunday afternoon.

You might want to speak the name of a soldier or veteran aloud in prayer or pray quietly to yourself. This is a small thing we can do to support those who are giving so much for us.

Will you come join us at 4 p.m. on Sunday?

Sincerely,

Frank and Tina Moore, John Givhan
