Riley Hammonds of Covington Fire Protection fills a fire extinguisher at The Star-News office Monday afternoon. Hammonds said he fills each extinguisher with what’s called “ABC powder.” The powder is used to help put out different forms of fire, such as grease or electrical fires, as examples.
