The suspect in a Monday stabbing in the Gantt area turned himself in Wednesday morning.

Chief Deputy David Anderson with the Covington County Sheriff’s Office said 52-year-old Brian McClellan, 52, is accused of stabbing 33-year-old Dickie Lambert in the lower left abdomen area Monday evening at a Wheeler Road home.

Anderson said McClellan, who arrived at the CCSO just before 9 a.m., is now being held in the Covington County Jail on an outstanding violation of probation warrant.

As for the “cutting incident,” that remains under investigation, Anderson said.

“Right now, investigators are still interviewing potential witnesses,” Anderson said.

Immediately following the incident, Lambert was air lifted from the Gantt Lake boat ramp to Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery for treatment. As of Wednesday afternoon, Lambert remained in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
