FLORENCE NICHOLS HAMMETT

Florence Nichols Hammett, 94, of Pensacola, Fla., died Mon., June 18, 2012, in Milton, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Fri., June 22, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Kelley officiating and burial following in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will at Foreman Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include her daughter, Martha Godwin of Pace, Fla.; her son, Mack Hammett of Prattville; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

DORIS L. HICKS

Doris L. Hicks, 81, of Andalusia, died Tues., June 19, 2012, in Andalusia Manor.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Thurs., June 22, at the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with her grandson, Minister Chance Hicks, officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at Foreman Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, William R. “Bill” Hicks of Andalusia; her son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Barbara Hicks of Florala; her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Greg Hall of Mobile; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Syble Longmire of Pensacola, Fla.

She is preceded in death by her son, Gary Hicks, and parents, Marvin and Lois Longmire.

Pallbearers will be Glen Hall, Keith Hall, Nick Wammack, Gary Lehn Hicks, Chance Hicks, and Ethan Hicks.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the Cedar Grove Church of Christ, Comfort Care Hospice, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

JANICE BANE SNYDER

Janice Bane Snyder, 68, of Wetumpka, passed away on June 6, 2012, following an extended illness.

Memorial services were held on Sun., June 18, at Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church in Wetumpka.

A native of Covington County, she was a graduate of Straughn High School and Troy State University. Her career included teacher, missionary in Honduras, Wal-Mart associate and Spanish interpreter.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Thomas Snyder; son, John Snyder; granddaughters, Isabella, Lorelei and Genevieve Snyder, all of Wetumpka; her brother, Marcel Bane of Selma; and sisters, Margaret Brown and Lorena Ruff, both of Andalusia, and Theresa Moore of Opp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence M. and Ruth Eiland Bane; paternal grandparents, John and Louvenia Cauley Bane; and maternal grandparents, Milton and Lorena Wyatt Eiland.

 

BEATRICE ‘BEBE’ GREENE

Beatrice “Bebe” Greene, 97, of Andalusia, died Sat., June 16, 2012, in the Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services were held on Tues., June 19, from Foreman Funeral Home with Dr. Fred Karthaus officiating and burial following in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Special music was provided by Dwight Criggers and Sue Bass Wilson.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Huey and Sharon Greene of Miramar Beach, Fla.; her grandchildren, Sara Greene, Brad Taylor and Chris Taylor; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Matthew and Brody Taylor; and a sister, Mary Weissinger of Mobile.

Pallbearers were Joe David Moore, Craig Hill, Jimmy Faulkner, Donny Radcliff, Mike Merrill and Steve Bryant.

Honorary pallbearer was Kyle Gantt.

JAMES QUINTON BRYANT

James Quinton Bryant, 71, of Red Level, died Sat., June 16, 2012, in the Opp hospital.

Funeral services were held Mon., June 18, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Canant officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Red Level.

Survivors include his sisters and brothers-in-law, Sylvia and Coleman Moseley of Opp and Sandra and Keith Lynch of River Falls; his brothers and sister-in-law, Shyron “Doc” Bryant of Andalusia and Floyd and Elaine Bryant of Friendship; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ruthie Bryant; a sister, Gayle Sharpe; and nephew, Gray Sharpe.

Pallbearers were Shannon Bryant, Douglas Moseley, Ronnie Moseley, Scotty Moseley and Roger Miller.
