Red Level High School seniors will walk across the stage and receive their diplomas Thursday night, and leading the pack will be valedictorian Courtney Nicole Douglas and salutatorian Hayden Nall.
And from the looks of the girls’ resumes, they are truly leaders on campus, and only one-tenth of a point separates the girls’ GPA’s. Douglas will graduate with a 3.98 and Nall with a 3.88.
Douglas is president of the Beta Club, a Tiger Ambassador, a honor roll student, earned an academic letter, takes advanced classes, Fellowship of Christian Students secretary, a member of Spanish Club, Mu Alpha Theta, FBLA, was a Girls State delegate and HOBY delegate.
Nall is an ambassador, member of the Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta, takes advanced classes, is student council president, Beta Club treasurer, senior class vice-president, and University of Alabama Capstone Scholar.
Both girls plan to attend LBWCC in the fall.
Douglas plans to transfer to Auburn to pursue a degree in pharmacy.
Nall plans to transfer to Troy and pursue a nursing degree, then finish at the University of Alabama at Birmingham to receive a degree as a nurse anesthetist
“I have enjoyed my high school career,” Douglas said. “I will miss my fellow classmates, and I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors. I love them all. I cannot wait to start my college career and look forward to a tremendous future. Go Tigers!”
Nall echoed her sentiments.
“My high school career has been very enjoyable,” she said. “I am so thankful for the teachers we have had along the way. I thank my parents for the guidance and life lessons they have taught me. Without them, I would not be where I am today.
“To the Class of 2012, I wish each and every one of you the best in all your endeavors,” Nall said.
Douglas is the daughter of Johnny and Delores Douglas, and Nall is the daughter of Jason and Melissa Nall.
Red Level High School graduation will be Thurs., May 24, at 7 p.m. in the RLS gym.
