OHS girls edge Kinston, 3-2

Opp’s Tori Reisnour hit an RBI single to score Kelly Pierce in the bottom of the seventh inning to help give the Lady Bobcats a 3-2 victory over Kinston on Monday night.

The Lady Bobcats tied the game in the seventh after Octavia Thompson, who reached on a double, scored on Anna Harrelson’s single to make it 2-2.

“Reisnour was our hero today,” OHS coach Jimmy Reeves said.

Harrelson also pitched a complete game to get the win for OHS. She gave up two runs on seven hits, struck out two batters and walked four.

Kinston scored one run in the top of the fourth inning when Arissa Davis scored on a double steal, while the Lady Bobcats threw Alyssa Caver out at second.

In the fifth, the Lady Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead after Callie Weeks hit an RBI single to score Macie Sanders.

Reisnour came up big for OHS in the sixth inning, where she led off with a triple and came home to score on a throwing error to get an inside-the-park home run to cut the lead to 2-1.

Opp (25-10) will visit Pleasant Home today in regular season action. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
