Bulldogs’ ‘goal’ is a goal

A player-depleted Andalusia soccer team will visit Enterprise tonight for its third match of the season at Wildcat Stadium.
The Bulldogs will face the EHS JV team, and will only have — in addition to their 11 players on the field — three substitutes. The Wildcats’ JV team is 6-0 on the season.
But despite the lack of players due to injury, AHS coach Tim Ramsden said the team has held good practices since its 9-0 loss to Charles Henderson on March 9.
“We’re going with a reduced squad of younger players,” Ramsden said. “We’ve done some things in practice that I think we can put into the game.”
All of the juniors on Andalusia’s team are out, Ramsden said.
So far this season, the Bulldogs haven’t scored a goal in a game, and scoring that first goal is a high priority, Ramsden said.
“We came quite close a lot in the Troy game,” he said about scoring goals. “It (the game film) also showed that we made some silly mistakes.
“The goal (tonight) is to try and stop the silly mistakes and play what we do well,” he said. “We need to keep the intensity up, and reduce the amount of opportunities for the other team.
“And why not try and get a few goals,” he said.
The match tonight will start at 6.
