Geneva scored eight of its 10 runs with two outs in the frame as the Panthers beat Andalusia 10-3 Tuesday night at the Southeast Invitational Tournament in Wicksburg.
Andalusia only managed one run with two outs in the game.
“That’s what hurt us in the game,” AHS coach Jonathan Rasberry said. “We knew going into the Southeast Invitational that it was going to be tough.”
Fifth-ranked Andalusia sits at 1-2 on the tournament so far, and will have a better picture whether it will continue playing in the invitational later today or tomorrow.
“We’ve managed to get a lot of players in scoring position, but we come up short, especially with a runner on third,” Rasberry said.
Zach Ward and Grayson Campbell went 2-for-3 each to lead the Bulldogs. Daniel Henderson and Tyler Raines added one hit each.
Andalusia scored its runs on a double by Henderson to score Judd Rogers, who reach on hit-by-pitch.
Campbell scored on an error.
The Bulldogs’ last run came when Ward scored on a hit by Campbell.
