Red Level’s approach to its first-round game against New Brockton tonight in Elba will be the same as it has been the whole season, Tigers coach Allen Catrett said on Thursday.
“They’ve got a good team,” Catrett said about New Brockton. “We expect them to come in with a good game plan. You play against perfection.”
Catrett said simply to win, “we’re going to have to play a good game, play good defense and control the boards.”
The Tigers enter tonight’s first-round of the Class 2A, Area 2 tournament with a 19-10 overall record.
“We’ve started good with them in the past,” Catrett said about New Brockton in the earlier games this season. “We’ve got to play with intensity and for all four quarters. We can’t try and coach through any part of the game.”
Catrett said the players seem excited about tonight’s game.
“They seem to be ready,” he said. “It’s been a long lay off from the last time we play until now, but they’re ready to play.”
Tip off tonight in Elba is at 6.
