In an effort to economize, the City of Andalusia has contracted for the administration of business licenses through RDS.

Renewal notices normally are sent to businesses in December, but due to the change in procedure, notices or forms are in the process of being mailed now, city clerk John Thompson said. Payment can be made by mail, in person at city hall or online.

The deadline for payment has been extended through February to allow businesses to adapt to the new system.

“We took a long hard look at how we administer business licenses and quickly found that changing to RDS would allow us to save the tax payers money and to give business owners more options and greater convenience when paying their business license fees,” Mayor Earl Johnson said.
