Alabama running back Trent Richardson was named one of five finalists for the Walter Camp Football Foundation 2011 College Player of the Year award on Wednesday.

Richardson has amassed 1,583 yards — a career-high — and 20 touchdowns this season. Additionally, he has 27 receptions and three touchdowns.

The award is voted on by FBS coaches, and sports information directors. It will be presented on Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
