The Covington County Arts Council opens its 2011-2012 season this week, which reminds us of the great opportunities for affordable entertainment they bring our way.
The season opens Thursday night with Elvis-impersonator Travis LeDoyt.
Later in the season, CAC will bring “Legends of Motown,” nationally-known comedian Henry Cho and the outrageous comedy “The Queens of Bingo” to the Dixon Center Stage. CAC also will stage a Missoula Children’s Theater musical, “The Secret Garden,” in the spring.
Season tickets are $50 for adults for all four professional performances; $25 for students. Individual tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door, she said. Family packages, which include tickets for two adults and two students, are available for $125. To purchase tickets or family packages prior to the event, visit Ansley’s Place or Harold’s Furniture.
Tickets to similar events in larger cities start at the prices we pay locally for the full season, and this group works hard to bring these shows to rural Alabama. See you at the show.
