Author and speaking sensation Andrea Mullins will speak to area women next month at a “Ladies Night Out” event, at Opp’s Southside Baptist Church.

Mullins is the publisher of New Hope Publishing and also directs WorldCrafts for national WMU, a women’s missionary union. Mullins has also written and published two books, as well as numerous articles for evangelical publications.

Additionally, she has led mission teams overseas and in the U.S., with an emphasis on ministry in partnership with the Interna-tional Olym-pics events.

Event organizer Brenda Bess said the event averages 300 women, and the tickets traditionally sell quickly.

Bess said the event provides local women an opportunity to have fellowship with others.

“It’s something we offer close to home,” she said. “There are a lot of Women of Faith conferences, but a lot of them don’t have the time or can’t afford to go off. It’s a time to renew and refresh.”

Bess said the church has sponsored the “Ladies Night Out” since 1997.

The ladies come together and sing praises and hear testimony, she said. “We have a delicious meal that our men serve us. It’s a good time for us to get refreshed in the Lord.”

The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 20.

Cost of the event is $15. Those interested in purchasing tickets can call Bess at 493-7065 or the church at 493-6340.
