Straughn’s varsity softball team dropped to the No. 8 spot in the last Alabama Sports Writers Association poll that was released today.

The Lady Tigers are 32-9 after dropping to Ashford 3-2 in the Elba tournament last weekend.

However, Straughn’s girls won its regular season area title, and will play host to the area tournament next week.

The Lady Tigers have been ranked as high as No. 6 in the polls this season.

Straughn will play host to Pleasant Home tonight for its senior night. The senior night ceremony will take place before the game, which begins at 5 p.m.
