Florala’s Lady Wildcats had 11 infield errors, and W.S. Neal took advantage to win 14-8 in regular season softball action Tuesday night.
“We gave up 12 unearned runs, and shut them out,” FHS head softball coach Jonathan Stinson said. “We tried to make a come back.
“When you’re down 12-2, it’s a little tough to do that. Our defense didn’t show up until the third inning.”‘
Alma Caffy and Jessica Lindsey were 3-for-4 for the Lady Wildcats behind the plate.
Florala will play in the Class 1A, Area 2 area tournament May 2-3 at Kinston.
The Lady Wildcats will play Geneva County in the first game beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The winner of game 1 will play Kinston, and the loser will drop down to the loser’s bracket in the double elimination tournament.
The winner and runner-up from the area tournament advance to the South Regional Tournament in Gulf Shores from May 13-14.
