SHS boys hit past Carroll-Ozark

Straughn racked up 19 hits, and beat Carroll-Ozark 14-9 Monday night at SHS.

The Tigers scored three runs in the first inning, two runs in the second inning, one run in the third inning, five runs in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth inning.

Straughn (23-6) was led behind the plate by Josh Dewrell, Nick Allen and Chase Short, who had one home run apiece in the win.

Drew Jones had two hits and three RBIs; and Zack Lunsford had two hits and two RBIs for the Tigers.

Short earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs and had five strikeouts in four innings.

Jacob Ganous struck out two in one inning, and Zack Stinson allowed one hit in two innings.

Carroll-Ozark scored one run each in the second and fourth innings, three runs in the fifth inning and four runs in the sixth inning.

The Eagles were led by Adam Jackson and Dylan Holt, who had three hits each.
