Grab your boots and put on those dancing skirts and make ready for the annual Homespun Country Hoedown.

Set for April 7, this annual event is sponsored by the City of Andalusia’s Department of leisure services and the Adult Activity Center.

This free event is held at the Kiwanis building, and doors will open at 8 a.m. Opening ceremonies are at 10 a.m.

AAC director Dianne Jones said those wishing to purchase a lunch must place their order as soon as possible. Cost is $5.25.

“We’re expecting a big crowd this year,” Jones said. “It’s going to be lots of the same good fun we have each year. There will be arts and crafts, lots of vendors and lots of fun things.”

“There is a big surprise planned, but I’m not going to let it out of the bag,” she said. “You’ll have to come to see what it is.”
