The Alabama Department of Transportation has begun work on Hwy. 137 between Hwy. 29 and the Florida line.

Wiregrass Construction Co. is in charge of the work, and will be planing, resurfacing and repainting the traffic stripe.

There will be advanced construction warning signs to advise the traveling public of the construction work zone.

Motorists will also be guided by a pilot car to ensure safety, DOT officials said.
