Trailing 6-1, Straughn scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and pulled away late to beat Dale County 11-6 in its annual invitational tournament champion Saturday night.

Dale County took a 6-0 lead when the Warriors scored three runs in the first inning, and three runs in the second inning.

The Tigers scored their first run on an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth.

In earlier action at the invitational, Straughn beat Opp 10-3 to advance to the finals.

Before Opp was put out of the tournament, the Bobcats beat Beulah 18-8.

In the first game of the day, Red Level fell to Greenville 12-2.
