Andalusia baseball team to host its 1st Bulldog Brawl

Andalusia High School will play host to its first Bulldog Brawl baseball tournament Friday and Saturday.

Six teams will compete in the tournament that will be played in pool play format.

Carver Montgomery, Wewahitchka, Fla. and Excel make up the teams in Pool A. Andalusia, Luverne and Elba make up the teams in Pool B.

The tournament will be played at the AHS baseball field and Crum Foshee Field at LBWCC.

AHS baseball coach Jonathan Rasberry said he’s been wanting to host a tournament since he’s been at the school.

“I’ve been wanting to hold one for the last two years,” he said.

The following is the schedule for the tournament by which field where the games will be played:

LBWCC, Friday

• Carver vs. Wewahitchka — 3 p.m.

• Luverne vs. Elba — 5:30 p.m.

• Excel vs. Wewahitchka — 8 p.m.

AHS Field, Friday

• Andalusia vs. Luverne — 3 p.m.

• Carver vs. Excel — 5:30 p.m.

• Andalusia vs. Elba — 8 p.m.

Saturday’s games will be played at the AHS baseball field.

Game 1 will be the No. 3 seed in Pool A vs. the No. 3 seed from Pool B. The game will start at 9 a.m.

Game 2 will be the No. 1 seed from Pool A vs. the No. 2 seed from Pool B at 11:30 a.m.

Game three will be the No. 1 seed from Pool B vs. the No. 2 seed from Pool A at 2 p.m.

The championship game, which will be between the winners of game two and game three will be played at 4:30 p.m.
