AHS boys tennis team beats Enterprise

Andalusia’s boys varsity tennis team beat Enterprise in straight sets Tuesday.
The Bulldogs unleashed a singles and doubles game friendsy, winning 9-0 over the Wildcats.
However, things didn’t go well for Andalusia’s girls team, where the Lady Bulldogs fell 8-1.

In singles action, Andalusia’s Alex Evans defeated Enterprise’s Sam Blackburn 10-10 (7-3) in a tiebreaker; Andalusia’s Chris Smith defeated Enterprise’s Benjamin Marler 10-5; Andalusia’s Mayur Patel defeated Enterprise’s Drew Keith 10-5; Andalusia’s Jackson Moore defeated Lars Vanderloo 10-2; Andalusia’s Jonathan Wiggins defeated Enterprise’s Matt Reeves 10-6; and Andalusia’s Brandon Scruggs defeated Enterprise’s Sam Tinsley 11-9.
In doubles, Andalusia’s Evans and Smith defeated Blackburn and Marler 10-4; Andalusia’s Patel and Moore defeated Enterprise’s Matt Reeves and Vanderloo 10-4; and Andalusia’s Scruggs and David May defeated Enterprise’s Drew Kitch and Tinsley 10-10 (7-3).

Andalusia’s only win came in No. 1 seed doubles action, where Aubrey Boyington and Anna Bay McCord defeated Enterprise’s Mills and Sullivan 10-5.
In other doubles action, Enterprise’s Gadzala and McLean defeated Andalusia’s Lauren Beasley and Jennifer Botta 10-1; and Enterprise’s Lawrence and Owens defeated Andalusia’s Maggie Jones and Meredith Tillman 10-3.
In singles, Boyington fell to Mills 10-4; Beasley fell to McLean 10-4; McCord fell to Mueller 10-5; Jones fell to Sullivan 10-4; Botta fell to Lawrence 10-1; and Tillman fell to Gadzala 10-0.
Andalusia will travel to play rival Opp today in its next match. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
