Pleasant Home’s Forrest Greathouse and C.D. Giddens hit solo homers Friday night, but that wasn’t enough as Laurel Hill beat the Eagles 9-6.
Sid Newby took the loss for the Eagles (1-1). Newby pitched 2.0 innings.
“We just kind of dug ourselves too deep a hole to get out of,” PHS baseball coach Cody McCain said about the game. “If the weather holds off (today), then we’ll try again.”
McCain was referring to his team’s scheduled doubleheader against at Straughn today. The first pitch is slated for 11 a.m., if weather permits.
