Three Red Level players finished in double figures on Friday night against Georgiana, but that wasn’t enough for a win as the Panthers beat the Tigers 57-55 at Straughn’s Christmas Shoot Out.
“It was another close one,” RLS coach Allen Catrett said.
At the start of the fourth period, Red Level was trailing 39-32, but the Tigers put up 13 points quickly to get within two points of the lead.
Georgiana added two points, and Red Level cut it to a one possession game with a couple free throws by Preston Ryce.
Red Level found itself trailing 55-52, and tried to execute a two-point play, but the Panthers were sent to the line, and increased their lead to 57-52.
Red Level got the inbound, and Ryce hit a three-pointer and time out was called with 1.0 seconds left in the contest, but Georgiana held out, and Red Level fell to 3-5 on the season.
The Tigers trailed 13-12 after the first period and 25-20 at half time.
Feagin led the Tigers with 13 points. McGee added 12 points, Nick Dorsey had 10 points, Troy Nolen had eight points and Raheem Bullock chipped in five points.
The Tigers will play Daleville today at 2:30 p.m. for sixth and seventh place.
