A local man is recovering after being life flighted following a tractor accident Wednesday.

Chief Deputy David Anderson said the accident occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Zell Ready Road.

“From what we can gather the man was trying to jump start his tractor,” Anderson said. “When he accelerated, it was still in gear. Somehow it rolled over and broke his leg.”

Anderson said the man was air lifted because no orthopedic doctors were available.

The man’s identity was unavailable when the Star-News went to press.
