‘Room was just gone’
“Oh my Lord,” were the first words Christine Morgan said she uttered when she saw the devastation inside what used to be the living room of her River Falls home.
Morgan said she and her husband, LoyRay, were in the rear of the home, watching the Alabama game, when “it” happened.
“I heard a crash and said to LoyRoy, ‘Something just came through the front of the house,’” Morgan said. “I walked through the door and said, ‘Oh my Lord.’ It was just gone.”
“It” was the space that used to house the home’s formal living room. Where the front wall used to be, now rested the trailer bed of an 18-wheeler. Mounds of dirt were caked throughout the room and covering the small porch-covered entryway.
The couple has lived in the home for 60 years. This is the first time anything like “this” has happened, Morgan said.
“Goodness and I hope it never does again,” she said. “Luckily that tree stopped it, but that trailer – it came right through into my living room.”
The extent of the damage was unknown at press time.
