Opp City Schools entered into a contract with the Alabama State Board of Education that will save the system money if they purchase certain driver’s education vehicles.
Superintendent Michael Smithart said the contract calls for an 80 percent reimbursement for costs associated with the purchase of an used automobile from the Department of Transportation.
Smithart said the vehicle must cost less than $9,500 to qualify, and the system has participated in the program previously.
