Three Andalusia players finished in double digits Monday night to help lead the Bulldogs to a 62-46 road victory over Dothan.
Andalusia’s Corinthian Sims led the Bulldogs with 22 points; Jacard Townsend added 16 points; and Quayshaun Denson had 14 points in the win over the Tigers.
AHS coach Richard Roberston said the team’s “size” won it for the Bulldogs Monday night.
“We outsized them,” he said. “They’re very quick, and we outsized them and got the ball inside to our big people. We didn’t make all the shots. We’ve got a lot of put backs. We limited them to one shot.”
The Bulldogs took a 17-7 lead after the first quarter, and held a 30-24 lead at halftime on the backs of Denson and Townsend. Denson was the points leader with 10, and Townsend had eight.
Andalusia added 16 points compared to Dothan’s 13 by the end of the third quarter to take a 46-37 lead going into the final eight minutes of the contest.
In B-team action, the Bulldogs won 37-25. Nigel Jones scored 14 points and Sam Byrd had 10.

In other action Monday night, the Lady Bulldogs fell 40-37; and the B-team boys won 37-25.
Alexis Horton led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points and Shi’Amber Townsend added nine points.
“We just didn’t play well offensively,” AHS girls coach Bennie Shellhouse said. “We shot way too many outside shots. Defensively, we didn’t play too bad.”
On defense, Tylesha Malcom had three blocked shots, and led in rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs.
