Alabama youth clamoring to bring home their deer have an opportunity to do so this weekend, as the state sponsors the annual youth deer hunt.

Beginning Nov. 12 and ending on Nov. 15, youth under 16 can take to the woods, when accompanied by an adult. All adults must have a valid Alabama hunting license.

Those hunting with muzzleloaders are also given a special opportunity to take a deer Nov. 16-20.

Those bow hunting have already had a taste of the season when their season began Oct. 15.

Regular gun season in Covington County begins Nov. 20 and runs through Jan. 31.

Bag limits are no more than two per day, and only one of which can be an antlered buck.
