Henderson house has interesting stories

This beautiful picturesque home, built in 1927 by Mrs. J.D. Henderson, seem to fail to make local history books, but holds an interesting story and not a story many folks are aware of.
When I was 16-17 years of age, I was employed by The Tea Room – a very upscale business from 1946 to 1948 and located across the street from the present day “Computer Clinic” 1507 East Three Notch Street in Andalusia.
Mrs. Henderson liked to entertain, and I was the only person she would allow to serve her dinner parties.
She would take me to elite concerts.
Once I distinctly remember was a young pianist by the name of Joe Batista.
Her acts of kindness I fondly remember to this day.
I am now 80 years of age, and I believe Mrs. Henderson would be pleased with the young lady she befriended all those years ago is enjoying her lovely spacious home today.
After traveling the country for 41 years in business, I returned to my wonderful Andalusia and found this lovely home, across the street from the present day First Baptist Church in Andalusia, for sale and waiting for me.
I bought it and moved in.
Truly a deed of kindness has come back.
