Opp Fest countdown begins

The 12th annual OppFest will hit the streets of Opp Sat., Oct. 30.
Organizer Bart Boothe said the street festival will return as it appears the downtown work will be completed by then.
“This is going to be our Small Towns and Downtowns event,” Boothe said. “We will have an unveiling of a historical marker sometime that day at the Depot.”
Statewide more than 2,000 Alabama towns are participating in the Great Alabama Homecoming, which serves as a way for friends, family and the state to reconnect.
OppFest will include arts and crafts, food and live entertainment.
Entertainment organizer Charles Willis said the entertainment has been finalized.
Among the entertainment will be the Silver Wings military band from Ft. Rucker and “A Blast from the Past” from Birmingham and many others.
