Opp falls to Abbeville

Abbeville capitalized on an Opp fumble, returning it 35 yards to score in the third quarter and put the game out of reach for the Bobcats. Abbeville won 26-13.
The Yellowjackets found paydirt first, scoring on a 22-yard touchdown pass late in the first quarter to take a 6-0 lead.
Opp answered with 10:21 left in the second quarter with a one-yard touchdown run by Richard Davis to tie the game at 6-6.
Abbeville scored 18 seconds later on a 65-yard run to extend the lead to 12-6. Late in the third, the Yellowjackets recovered the Opp fumble for 35 yards and six points. The point-after was good, and they were up 21-6.
Abbeville scored again half-way through the fourth on a 16-yard run. The kick was good, and the scoreboard read 28-6.
But Opp wasn’t done. Quardir Kincade scored on a 66-yard reception from Tyler Harrison. The point-after was good, and the scoring ended at 28-13.
Opp had 144 yards on the ground and 110 in the air for a total of 254 yards. They were seven of 21 passing with one interception, had three fumbles and lost one. They were penalized only twice.
Abbeville picked up 200 yards on the ground and 172 in the air, completing 15 of 23 attempts, for a total of 372 yards rushing. They had 11 penalties and one fumble.
