The Opp Lady Bobcats demolished the Straughn Lady Tigers 2-0 Tuesday night in regular season varsity volleyball action.
“(The girls) played better as a team, hustled and our serves left the stakes last night,” OHS coach Christie Spurlin said. “I told them when it all came together, then we’d win.”
Spurlin said the keys to victory in the Lady Bobcats’ 25-21, 25-23 win over the Lady Tigers were in “serving and playing well together.”
Opp improves to 7-12 on the season, and will travel to play Zion Chapel today at 4 p.m., starting with the junior high team.
Straughn’s Megan Johns had three aces and five service points; Kaitlynn Wiggins had five service points, digs and kills each; Katie Hardage had five service points; Paige Caraway contributed with one block; and Brooke Harris led in assists with 10.
Straughn will host Andalusia tonight, starting with the varsity team at 4 p.m. in area action.
Stats were not available for Opp when the Star-News went to press Wednesday.
