MONTGOMERY – A fire destroyed the Central-Hayneville High School Field House Tuesday morning and all the school’s football equipment and uniforms. The school has a game Friday night at Isabella High School and is in immediate need for help in outfitting the team’s approximately 25 players.
AHSAA Executive Director Steve Savarese is asking member schools to step forward by donating or loaning any surplus equipment and uniforms to Central-Hayneville. Any school with items to donate should contact Ron Ingram or Joe Evans of the AHSAA at 334-263-6994 or call 334-590-2232 (Ron Ingram cell). These needs are urgent.
Central-Hayneville, located in Lowndes County, has five regular-season games remaining. The equipment lost includes helmets, shoulder pads, other uniform pads, jerseys, pants, shoes, balls and any other items needed to outfit a team.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
