AHS girls win 2 in tri-match

Andalusia defeated Highland Home and Red Level Thursday night in a tri-match at home.
The Lady Bulldogs played Highland Home first, and won the best 2-out-of-3 match 25-8, 25-10.
Then, Andalusia beat Red Level 25-6, 25-9.
“(Thursday), we had a few passing errors,” AHS coach Angie Grimes said. “We ran our offense well, and we looked good. We were seeing the court, and hitting the balls down where we need to.”
In the Highland Home match, Andalusia’s A.C. Riley had four service points and 20 assists; Megan Pugh had 11 service points; Ellie Pollock had seven service points and seven digs; and Shi’Amber Townsend had four kills and five aces.
Against Red Level, Riley had five service points, seven aces and 20 assists; Pollock had five service points, eight aces and seven digs; and Townsend had seven kills and five aces.
The Lady Bulldogs improve to 5-4 overall, and 1-0 in Class 4A, Area 3.
Their next match will be against Straughn next Thurs., Sept. 9 after the junior varsity game at 4 p.m.
